A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Lord, our marriage is over but our parenting isn't. Every handover and every text about school pickups can reopen old wounds. Help me put my children's good ahead of my need to be right.
Keep me from speaking badly about their other parent in front of them. Give us enough peace between us that the kids feel safe in both homes. And heal what our children carry from this, even the parts they can't put into words.
