Lord, married life is sweeter and harder than I expected. We squeeze toothpaste differently, handle money differently, and argue about things I never saw coming. Teach us to fight fair and make up quickly, before the sun goes down.
Help me listen before I defend myself. Let us become one without either of us disappearing. Grow us into the kind of couple who are still kind to each other in forty years.
