The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who is wise listens to counsel.
Don’t reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise person, and he will love you. Instruct a wise person, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous person, and he will increase in learning.

God, I was wrong and I know it, but every part of me wants to explain, justify, or change the subject. When Nathan confronted David, David simply said, I have sinned. Give me that kind of honesty.
Help me say the words without adding but. Let me care more about the person I hurt than about saving face, and let this make me easier to correct next time. In Jesus' name, Amen.
