Also for serving at church · volunteer burnout · unappreciated · no one notices · tired of serving · behind the scenes · ministry fatigue · taken for granted · thankless · serving alone · volunteering
For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them.
Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up.
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does, so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

A prayer

Lord, I stack the chairs, I wipe the tables, I show up early and leave last, and sometimes I wonder if anyone would notice if I stopped. You notice. You said even a cup of cold water given in your name is not forgotten.
Let that be enough for me. Keep my serving free of resentment, and show me if I need to rest or hand something on. I do this for you.
