on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
praying together for us also, that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds, that I may reveal it as I ought to speak.
Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified, even as also with you,
But we beg you, brothers, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you, and to respect and honor them in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch on behalf of your souls, as those who will give account, that they may do this with joy, and not with groaning, for that would be unprofitable for you.
Now I beg you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me,

Lord, I lift up the people who lead our church. They carry burdens most of us never see: the late-night phone calls, the funerals, the criticism, the sermons written in tired weeks. Protect their families and their health.
Keep them close to you and honest with each other. Give them wisdom for hard decisions and courage to preach your word faithfully. Show me how I can encourage them this week.
