Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be humbled, and I also know how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up.
Yet I wish that all men were like me. However each man has his own gift from God, one of this kind, and another of that kind.
Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.”
A prayer

Lord, teach me to be content in this waiting instead of always looking past today toward the day I'm married. I don't want to put my whole life on pause, and I don't want to settle out of impatience either. Help me use this season well, growing, serving, becoming someone whole rather than someone desperate.
If marriage is part of your plan for me, I trust you with the timing. If this season is longer than I'd choose, help me still find it good. In Jesus' name, Amen.
