But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear, having a good conscience. Thus, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Christ.
Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle toward all, able to teach, patient, in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,

Lord, someone asked me a question about you that I couldn't answer, and I felt my face go hot. Give me wisdom, and the humility to say I don't know yet. Keep me from winning arguments and losing people.
Help me study so I can give a reason for my hope, and help me answer with gentleness and respect. Where their questions are really wounds, let me listen first. In Jesus' name, Amen.
