For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first, and also for the Greek.
For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. Therefore don’t be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner; but endure hardship for the Good News according to the power of God,
Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness,
on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News,
But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
Yahweh said to him, “Who made man’s mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn’t it I, Yahweh? Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak.”

Lord, I love you, and I still go quiet when your name comes up at work or with friends. I'm afraid of sounding strange, of being laughed at, of losing people. Moses and Jeremiah made excuses too, and you gave them words.
Give me boldness that stays gentle, and help me say something true about you when the moment comes, even if my voice shakes. In Jesus' name, Amen.
