“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.”
Jesus answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple.
You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.
Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there.
But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

God, I sit down to pray and within a minute I'm thinking about emails, groceries, and something I saw online. My mind has forgotten how to be quiet. You invite me to be still and know that you are God.
Teach me slowly. Help me start with a few quiet minutes and grow from there. When my thoughts wander, let me gently bring them back without scolding myself, and find you waiting.
