Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.

Lord, what was done to me was wrong, and I am not going to pretend it didn’t hurt. I don’t know how to forgive this on my own strength, it feels too big. But I don’t want to carry this bitterness for years either.
Help me release the need to make them pay, and hand the justice of it over to you. Soften my heart little by little. Forgiving doesn’t mean it was okay; it means I trust you with what’s left.
