I feel numb and can't feel anything
For the ache of losing someone or something dear.

Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness.

Lord, I don’t feel sad exactly, I just feel nothing, like something in me has gone quiet and won’t wake up. I know you are not put off by my numbness. You don’t need me to perform grief the right way.
Be patient with me in this fog. Your mercies are new every morning even on the mornings I can’t sense them. When I am ready to feel again, meet me there.
Until then, hold what I can’t hold myself. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
