For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them.
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you. I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
You count my wanderings. You put my tears into your container. Aren’t they in your book?

Father, we had already started loving this little one. We had names, and plans, and a picture of next year that included them. Now there is only an ache that many people don't know how to talk about.
You knew our baby before anyone else did, and you saw every day of that small life. Hold our child, and hold us. Comfort us in our grief, and keep us from blaming ourselves or each other.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
