Now Yahweh said to Abram, “Leave your country, and your relatives, and your father’s house, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great. You will be a blessing.
By faith, Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to the place which he was to receive for an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he went. By faith, he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a land not his own, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise.
If I take the wings of the dawn, and settle in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me.
Behold, I am with you, and will keep you, wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken of to you.”
Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to Yahweh for it; for in its peace you will have peace.”
Yahweh preserves the foreigners. He upholds the fatherless and widow, but he turns the way of the wicked upside down.

Father, we're starting over in a country that isn't home yet. New language, new paperwork, new rules no one explains. We miss our family, our food, and the streets we knew by heart.
Abraham left everything and went where you led, and you went with him. Go with us. Watch over us as foreigners, as you promised.
Help us seek the good of this city and find a church family here. In Jesus' name, Amen.
