Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you.
Jesus wept.
For if we live, we live to the Lord. Or if we die, we die to the Lord. If therefore we live or die, we are the Lord’s.
Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.
Precious in Yahweh’s sight is the death of his saints.
A prayer

Lord, I'm sitting beside someone I love, listening to them breathe and knowing it won't be long. I don't know what to say, so let my being here say it. Give them peace, and ease any pain or fear.
If there is anything still unsaid between us, give us a moment for it. Walk with them through this valley as you promised, and receive them gently. Hold me too, in the hours afterward.
