A prayer

Lord, watch over this trip from start to finish. Guard the roads, the skies, and every mile in between, and keep me alert and safe along the way. I place my travel companions and my own life in your hands rather than gripping the wheel of control myself.
Bring me safely to where I'm going, and use even this travel time to rest and reset. Thank you for going ahead of me and staying with me the whole way. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Keep my eyes on the road and my temper in check. Keep me awake, and keep the other drivers from doing anything foolish. Bring all of us to the end of this road in one piece.
Before a flight
Father, I'm about to be thirty thousand feet up and out of my own control. Keep the pilots sharp and the plane sound. Settle my stomach, and bring us down safely with everyone I'm traveling with.
When someone I love is traveling
Someone I love is on the road today, and I can't go with them. I'm giving them to you, Jesus, along with every mile they'll drive. Let them call when they arrive, and let me stop checking my phone until they do.
Coming home
Thank you for the trip and for the road home. Bring us back safe, with good stories and tired feet, and keep the house standing and everyone in it well until we walk through the door.
