He makes wars cease to the end of the earth. He breaks the bow, and shatters the spear. He burns the chariots in the fire.
He will judge between the nations, and will decide concerning many peoples. They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Yahweh will also be a high tower for the oppressed; a high tower in times of trouble.

A prayer

Lord, there are families tonight sheltering from bombs, parents searching for children, and people walking away from homes they will never see again. You hear the groaning of the needy, and you promised to rise up for them. Protect the innocent.
Comfort the grieving. Give courage to those bringing food and medicine. Soften hard hearts in the places where decisions are made, and bring an end to this war.
Make wars cease, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.
