God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling.
He will not be afraid of evil news. His heart is steadfast, trusting in Yahweh.
Yahweh sat enthroned at the Flood. Yes, Yahweh sits as King forever. Yahweh will give strength to his people. Yahweh will bless his people with peace.
You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.
In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Lord, every time I open the news it's worse, and I carry it around all day. Wars, disasters, cruelty, and arguments with no end. You told us we would have trouble in this world, and you told us to take heart because you have overcome it.
Help me stay informed without being consumed. Turn my worry into prayer for the people in those stories. And remind me that you are still on the throne.
