The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense.
He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a quick temper displays folly.
So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God.
with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Lord, I snap at people and regret it thirty seconds later. The slow cashier, the child who asks again, the driver who cuts in. You are slow to anger and abounding in love, and you have been endlessly patient with me.
Grow that patience in me. Give me a pause between the irritation and the words. And when I get it wrong, help me apologize quickly.
