Fear of what I can't control
When fear feels bigger than your faith.

Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they? “Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan?
When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.
Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas;

A prayer

Lord, there is so much right now I cannot control, and it makes my chest tight just thinking about it. I want guarantees, and you are offering me your presence instead, which is harder to hold onto but so much more real. Help me let go of needing to know how this all turns out.
Nothing that happens can separate me from your love. Anchor me in that one certainty while everything else stays uncertain. In Jesus' name, Amen.
