Masters, give to your servants that which is just and equal, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.
You masters, do the same things to them, and give up threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no partiality with him.
“ ‘You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. “ ‘The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning.
You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the foreigners who are in your land within your gates. In his day you shall give him his wages, neither shall the sun go down on it; for he is poor and sets his heart on it; lest he cry against you to Yahweh, and it be sin to you.
Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies.
Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.

Lord, the people who work for me have families, bills, and bad days of their own. Help me see them as people, not only as costs. Make me fair in wages, clear in expectations, and generous with praise.
When I have to make a hard decision about someone's job, give me honesty and compassion. You are my master in heaven, so help me lead the way I would want to be led. In Jesus' name, Amen.
